Fogarty Hall at Unwined Perth: Nine Wines, Three Regions, Two Days
We were excited to have been part of Unwined Perth over the last two days, sharing nine of our Western Australian wines with a room full of curious local wine lovers. Unwined is one of Perth's standout wine events, bringing producers face to face with people who genuinely love wine, and for us it was a wonderful opportunity to pour our wines and share the stories behind them with the people who enjoy them most.
We brought wines from three of our Western Australian estates, each speaking to a distinct region: Millbrook from the Perth Hills, Smithbrook from Pemberton, and Redbrook from Margaret River's Wilyabrup. Three regions, three expressions, one portfolio, and a deliberate spread designed to show just how much sits within our Western Australian estates. Nine wines on pour, every one a different variety. From Redbrook we poured a Cabernet Merlot and Shiraz with the structure and length Wilyabrup is known for, alongside an elegant Chardonnay. Millbrook brought a bright Sauvignon Blanc and a textural Perth Hills Fiano, a variety still rare in Western Australia. And from Smithbrook came the cool-climate side of the table: a Pinot Noir, a crisp Pemberton sparkling, and a Nebbiolo that sparked more questions than any other wine on pour.
Some of the best moments came from the wines people did not expect. The Millbrook Fiano had visitors curious about a variety still rare in Western Australia. The Smithbrook Nebbiolo, so often associated with Piedmont, opened a genuine conversation about what Western Australia can do with one of Italy's great varieties. These are the conversations that do not happen from behind a label. They happen across a tasting table, glass in hand, and they are exactly why events like Unwined matter to us.
