vintage
2024 saw a return of the El Niño, warmer than average days and cool nights allowed for early budburst and settled flowering giving yields close to long term averages. The growing season experienced very low disease pressure due to the warm and dry conditions. Fruit quality was high with excellent fruit concentration and balanced acidity.
winemaking
A blend of 37% Derwent Valley, 34% Tamar Valley, 23% East Coast and 6% Coal River Valley fruit. Small parcels were fermented separately in open top fermenters with twice daily cap management. Ten months maturation in new (20%) and seasoned French oak prior to blending and bottling.
